Take a good look at that new home you are buying.

You are given an opportunity to walk through and make note of deficiencies.

The Builder will commit to repairing those deficiencies only if you have reported them. You are given an opportunity to make that list on three separate occasions. DO IT!

Make a list of the problems you see and keep the list somewhere where you can continually update it. Look for areas of the drywall that need repair, uneven areas that can only be seen when the light hits them “just so”.

Keep an eye on the finishing work, on tiles that crack and on cracks in the paint that appear after the house has been through the first winter feeze and thaw.

Too many people buy the house and then ignore its problems until it is time to sell it and move on. The Builder offers you, the buyer of a new home, the chance to have some repairs completed at no cost to you. Use that opportunity and be glad of it.
